Amish Country Queer is the award-winning documentary about Lancaster’s queer nightlife and drag culture.
A queer photographer documents nightlife, drag culture, and chosen family in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, revealing a thriving LGBTQ+ community and challenging assumptions about where queer joy can exist in small-town America.
For Brady, photography is a way to reclaim parts of their life marked by rejection and isolation, turning them into pride and connection and ultimately creating a living portrait of the evolving possibilities of queer life in small-town America.
Winning 'Best Documentary' awards from the Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival, the Red Rose Film Festival, and the Appalachian Queer Film Festival, the short film is a proof of concept currently in development.
Production on the feature-length documentary wrapped in December (2025) and post-production has begun!
